Doctor Michael Mosley often shares his weight loss tips with slimmers online as well as on television. He is the creator of The Fast 800 – a diet plan that helps people lose weight quickly.

The doctor continued: “The likely explanation, according to studies, is that consuming high-fat dairy products keeps you fuller for longer, reducing the lure of sugary snacks.”

Staying hydrated is also an easy way to feel fuller for longer, contributing to weight loss.

Doctor Mosley said: “Drinking plenty of water can keep the hunger at bay.

“You can also try adding fresh ginger, a slice of fresh lemon or lime to hot water or to sparkling water.

“Black coffee and tea are fine to have during your fasting hours.”

As well as diet, exercise is also important when it comes to weight loss.

Doctor Mosley recommended: “Keep exercising – moving is key to preventing cravings from taking over.”

Only a few minutes of exercise a day is necessary, and slimmers do not even need expensive gym equipment – doctor Mosley has previously advised running up the stairs as a simple way to incorporate exercise to your daily routine.

To avoid snacking late at night, doctor Mosley said: “As soon as you have finished the last meal of the day, brush your teeth.

“It’ll help you to keep away from snacks and nibbles.

“It is also a psychological trigger that this is the end of the day.”

If slimmers do find it difficult to avoid snacking, eating nuts or pieces of fruit when hungry is recommended.
