The 69-year-old actor received his diagnosis in February 2023. Emma Heming Willis Reveals Powerful Tips to Support Caregiving on Their Journey
Emma Heming shows incredible resilience as she juggles raising two daughters, becoming a published author, and caring for her husband, Bruce Willis, who is dealing with frontotemporal dementia.
The Die Hard star was diagnosed with this condition in February 2023, following the family’s announcement a year earlier about his battle with aphasia.

Since then, Emma has been open about the challenges and rewards of caregiving, dedicating herself to helping others in similar situations.
The former model took to Instagram to share an important message about the need to support caregivers, ahead of National Caregivers Day on February 21.
“Many of you want to know how to best support a caregiver in your life,” she said to her nearly one million followers.
“I thought about this, and instead of just telling the caregiver, ‘If there’s anything I can do, please let me know,’ which is certainly kind and comes from a good place, think about a few specific ways you can help them.”
She continued: “Caregivers often find it difficult to express their needs, including what they are comfortable with. They may worry about being a burden, so it’s crucial to let them know how you can support them.”
She suggested that caregivers might find value in services like grocery delivery, school pickups for their kids, or car washes—simple yet impactful actions that can greatly lighten their daily load.
“Think about how you would want to support a caregiver in your life,” she wrapped up.
The mother of two expanded on her message in the caption, offering practical ideas in light of National Caregivers Day.
“Let’s move from saying, ‘Let me know if you need anything,’ to ‘Here’s how I can help you,’” she remarked. “This way is clear, actionable, and takes the burden off the caregiver to figure things out.”
“Be specific—offer real support,” she stressed. “Bring a meal, run an errand, or surprise them with their favorite coffee. Eliminate the guesswork from their responsibilities.”
“Although caregiving can feel overwhelming, providing support doesn’t have to be complicated. A small, thoughtful gesture can make a big difference.”
Bruce and Emma tied the knot in 2009 and are proud parents to two daughters: Mabel, who is 12, and Evelyn, who is 10.

The couple has a strong relationship with Bruce’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, and their three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.
Emma is a dedicated advocate for the caregiving community and is currently working on a book designed to help caregivers focus on their own well-being amid the emotional challenges they encounter.
“I understand the privilege I have,” the 46-year-old shared in a recent Instagram video. “I have the resources, access, and energy to write this book, and I believe the beauty of this project lies in my ability to share their expert insights with all of you.”
“This journey of writing this book has been one of the most meaningful gifts I have received,” she added, clearly moved.
