Gemma Collins has posed with a skinned fox in a shocking new image as she backs PETA’s campaign to end fur trade in the UK.

The TV personality, 40, famously posed nude to take part in the animal rights organisation’s I Would Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign, and she’s now upping the ante as she pushes to ban fur imports.

As part of her campaign, the TOWIE star is calling on Prime Minister Boris Johnson to bring an end to the ‘barbaric’ practice.

She said in a new video: ‘You may have heard I;m celebrating my 40th birthday. Yes, that’s four decades of the GC. And you know who else just turned 40? PETA US. That’s four decades of campaigning for animals.

‘From disrupting fashion catwalk shows to holding endless demonstrations, PETA has helped people see all over the world just how disgusting it is to wear animals.

‘It’s shown us that animals in the fur industry are kept in cramped cages before they’re killed in the most horrific ways – all for a coat or some trim on a jacket.’

Pointing out her own involvement with PETA, she continued: ‘I’ve joined in along the way. I took part in an iconic I Would Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign.

‘I am so passionate about ending fur trade, because I think it’s absolutely horrific the way animals are so barbarically treated.

‘Because of PETA and other animal advocates, fur is now dead, as most high street shops and top designers refuse to use it. But there’s still more work to be done.

‘While fur farms no longer exist here in the UK, fur is still being imported from other countries and sold here. That is not OK. We’re a nation of animal lovers, so it makes no sense for the UK to prop up the fur trade.

Addressing the Prime Minister, she concluded: ‘Take it from an icon, Boris – no one needs fur in their wardrobe. Do the right thing – ban fur imports and sales. Let’s wear our skin and let the animals keep theirs.’

Last year, Gemma posed nude in a poignant anti-marine park campaign for PETA.

The TV personality stripped off to self-isolate in a bathtub in a bid to highlight the plight of captive orcas, dolphins and other animals forced to live in cramped conditions.

The striking image parallels how sensitive marine animals are separated from their families and confined in concrete tanks that are – to them – the size of a bath, causing extreme stress, loneliness, and depression.

This isolation – and longing for freedom – leads to extreme stress, loneliness, and depression.

The image, taken by photographer Ruth Rose, features the slogan: ‘Could you spend your life in a bathtub?’

In an accompanying video spot, the reality star explains why denying animals everything that’s natural and important to them causes them to lash out.

Gemma said: ‘When people say, “Oh, my God, why has this whale killed one of our trainers?”

‘It’s because it’s an animal that was taken from its mother in the wild, all to live their life in a bathtub.

‘This isn’t acceptable. People are making money off of parading these animals.’

In nature, orcas can swim up to 140 miles and bottlenose dolphins up to 60 miles per day.

They can dive to depths of well over 300 metres below the ocean’s surface and maintain dynamic relationships within large social networks.

At SeaWorld’s parks, 140 dolphins are squeezed into just seven cramped tanks and can’t escape attacks from other frustrated, aggressive dolphins.

A recent expert report compiled by PETA US revealed that many dolphins at SeaWorld have open wounds and extensive scarring – yet trainers still rode on their backs and stood on their faces during sea-circus performances until a recent PETA US campaign pushed them to end this egregious practice.

The TOWIE star asks people to help her call for the release of all animals in marine parks.

‘Let’s campaign to get all the marine life into a sanctuary, where they can have some actual enjoyment in their lifetime,’ she concludes.

Gemma previously starred in an I’d Rather Go Naked than Wear Fur ad for PETA and is part of a long list of celebrities – including Amanda Holden, Sharon Osbourne, Noah Cyrus, Charlotte Crosby, Paul O’Grady, the late Sir Roger Moore, and many others – who have teamed up with PETA and its international affiliates to speak out against marine-mammal captivity.

PETA’s motto states that animals ‘are not ours to use for entertainment’, and the group opposes speciesism, the human-supremacist mentality that all other animal species are inferior to our own.
