Something strange is going on with Gina Carano’s Twitter account. Namely, as of the present (September 4), it’s not there. The account was active as recently as August 27th.

The question is whether Carano deleted her account or Twitter deleted it for her. Usually, when Twitter pulls the plug it suspends the account, such as what it did to President Trump. Carano’s account “no longer exists,” which in Twitter talk means the user deleted it him or herself. This is possible, but this seems unlikely given how Carano freely and frequently used her account to publicize both her conservative views and different acting endeavors, amassing over one million followers in the process.

Carano’s other social media accounts, such as Instagram and Truth Social, are still online. She most recently posted on Instagram on August 27th and Truth Social on August 30th. Her most recent Facebook post was on August 29th. Interestingly, her Facebook profile still lists the now-inoperative Twitter account.

Carano recently used Twitter to vigorously assail the refusal to let tennis star Novak Djokovic enter the United States to play in the US Open due to Djokovic’s unvaccinated status. On August 25th she wrote:

If all the tennis players boycotted the @usopen until @DjokerNole was permitted to play it would cause change. The silence of our colleagues, countrymen, media, family & friends is what hurts the most. THIS ALL FALLS APART WHEN WE STAND TOGETHER. When will you have had enough?

Carano is no stranger to social media tumult. In February 2021, she was fired from Disney+ Star Wars show The Mandalorian despite her character’s massive popularity due to her refusal to toe the woke party line. Christian Toto reminds us regarding that original incident:

Carano didn’t label any politician, Left or Right, as Hitler or Nazi-esque. She worried that conservatives and free thinkers alike were being treated like the “other” in western culture, and she feared what might happen next.

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…. even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

Her post had more nuance, and empathy, than peers who called Trump supporters Nazis.

The hope is Carano will soon speak up on one of her remaining platforms and let her fans know what has taken place. Until then, minus definitive evidence, Carano’s disappearance from Twitter remains a source of speculative mystery.
