Career

When Kirschner was in fifth grade, his first job was delivering newspapers. Before entering the Army JAG, he worked on a commercial fishing boat in New Jersey. Kirschner was hired by JAG Corporation in 1987 and sent to Fort Richardson in Alaska after finishing his training. Kirschner, like his father, had always wanted to serve in the military, so he applied for an Army ROTC scholarship. It was a huge relief for Kirschner when the army accepted him into the scholarship program.

Kirschner served as an Army prosecutor at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, handling hundreds of court-martial cases and advising Army commanders on criminal justice matters. He then worked as an Army appellate lawyer in the United States Court of Appeals. He also worked for the Army Legal Services Agency in Falls Church, Virginia, where he handled death penalty and espionage cases, among other things.

Kirschner left the army after almost six and a half years of active service because he was assigned to managerial responsibilities but not a post in the courts, where he wished to serve. Kirschner began his career as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia in 1994. Kirschner served under Bob Mueller, the former head of homicide at the US Attorney’s Office, in the late 1990s. Bob Muller taught him how to prosecute murder cases and run the Homicide Section.

Kirschner spent 24 years in the D.C. USAO. In Federal Court, he prosecuted RICO charges, and in D.C. Superior Court, he prosecuted murder cases, conspiracy theories, and obstruction of justice cases. He worked as the Deputy Chief of the Homicide Section for four years and handled over 50 murder cases. From 2004 through 2010, he was the Chief of Homicide. He eventually resigned from the United States Attorney’s Office on June 1, 2018.

He thanked her in the thread for offering to explain the QR code scanning method to the people waiting to board the jet to Mexico. She was already familiar with the system due to her detail-oriented attitude and her job path as an attorney, so she helped each passenger boarding the aircraft handle the technical aspects of the trip one by one.
