HALSEY has confirmed they are engaged to Avan Jogia in a tweet after the 2024 MTV VMAS.
The singer, who uses they/them pronouns, clarified that Avan is no longer their boyfriend but their fiancé, in an X post on September 11.
Their comment was in response to a post from pop culture account Pop Base, which noted Halsey said they hope to “marry boyfriend Avan Jogia.”
Halsey retweeted the post but not before adding an important clarification, which read, “***fiancé Avan Jogia.”
Fans congratulated the pair on X, with one person writing, “CONGRATULATIONS ANGEL IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH”
Another tweet read, “OMG CONGRATULATIONS GIRL.”
A third X user added, “CONGRATS HALSEY!! Hope you get married soon you deserve the world.”
Halsey also addressed the speculation over their relationship with Avan in an interview at the 2024 MTV VMAs.
The singer first confirmed their engagement to Avan in an interview with E! News, describing the Canadian musician as “one of the greatest things that’s ever happened to me.”
“Avan is the best, he’s like one of the greatest things that’s ever happened to me,” Halsey told the outlet.
“Every single day that I get to spend with him is one where I just feel like I’m with my best friend,” they continued. “It’s incredible.”
When asked whether they will get married to Avan, Halsey replied, “I hope so.”

Halsey added that their three-year-old child Ender Ridley Aydin is “best friends” with Avan, adding Ender will “definitely” be a part of the wedding.
“They’re inseparable,” the Without Me hitmaker continued.

Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Frangipane, started dating the former Victorious actor Avan, 32, last year, after they sparked romance rumors in September 2023.
They were photographed kissing during a PDA-filled outing at Los Angeles’ Cara Hotel, as fans declared they “look hot together.”

Another X user reacted to the photos, adding, “Halsey and Avan Jogia are my new fixation (I love hot people).”
They made their relationship Instagram official the following month, before the Grammy nominee and Avan celebrated Halloween with co-ordinates costumes.
Billboard reported that Halsey went as a sea monster while Avan, who has also starred in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, was dressed as a sailor.
The couple made their red carpet debut at the premiere for Dev Patel’s film Monkey Man in April 2024.
Prior to dating Avan, Halsey separated from their estranged husband, Turkish-American screenwriter Alev Aydin, in April 2023 – two years after they welcomed Ender.
Halsey has also dated American Horror Story star Evan Peters, English singer-songwriter Yungblud, G-Eazy, and The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.
Meanwhile, Avan was previously in a relationship with actress Cleopatra Coleman from 2017 until 2021, when they seemingly unfollowed each other on social media.
Prior to that, he was in a five-year relationship with his Zombieland: Double Tap co-star Zoey Deutch.
‘VERY UPSET’
Earlier this year, Britney Spears threatened to sue Halsey after they released their song Lucky, which samples Britney’s iconic 2000s hit.
Halsey also appeared to channel the pop star by wearing a sparkly sheer bodysuit, seemingly inspired by Britney’s Toxic music video.
Halsey’s homage to Britney left the Oops I Did It Again singer feeling “very upset,” as Britney threatened legal action in a statement shared on X.
“For obvious reasons I’m very upset about the Halsey video,” Britney began.
“I feel harassed, violated, and bullied.”
“I didn’t know an artist like her and someone I looked up to and admired would illustrate me in such an ignorant way by tailoring me as a superficial pop star with no heart or concern at all,” she continued.
“I have my own health problems which is why I took down my IG account yesterday.”
“I’m speaking with my lawyers today to see what can be done on this matter. It feels illegal and down right [sic] cruel,” she concluded.
Halsey’s representatives did not immediately return The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
