The trial of Michael Sussmann is starting next week unless something intervenes, such as a plea beforehand. So the clock is ticking down before a lot of information will finally get a public airing and the Clinton team will be getting a shout-out from Special Counsel John Durham.
As we previously noted, while Judge Christopher Cooper wouldn’t make a ruling on whether there was a joint venture involving members of the Clinton campaign, Sussmann, and others, and limited some of the evidence that Durham might be able to present, there was still a lot that he will be able to put forth in laying out his case.
But the Washington Times has the list of the folks who are going to be called and some big names are coming on the bill.
Robby Mook, who managed Mrs. Clinton’s 2016 campaign, Clinton campaign attorney Marc Elias and FBI counterintelligence leader Bill Priestap and former top FBI lawyer James Baker are among those called as government witnesses, said prosecutor Andrew DeFilippis.
The prosecution, spearheaded by special counsel John Durham‘s probe of the FBI’s Trump-Russia collusion investigation, also will put on the stand Laura Seago, a top tech official at political research firm Fusion GPS; Deborah Fine, a Clinton campaign lawyer; and a CIA official identified only as “Kevin B.”
A slew of FBI officials are also expected to testify for the government, which alleges that Mr. Sussmann lied to FBI officials about his Clinton campaign ties when peddling the false story about Mr. Trump and Russia.
Defense attorneys unveiled their own high-powered witness list. It includes Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, former acting Assistant Attorney General Mary McCord and Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter Eric Lichtblau.

Grab the popcorn, because I know the folks that I want to hear from most are Robby Mook and Marc Elias. I can almost hear the squirming already and the problem is that if they don’t tell the truth, they’re going to buy themselves even more trouble. But I’m also curious about why he’s going to call Deborah Fine, as well as the Fusion GPS employee. There’s a reason that Durham is calling them, they may be more willing to flip on some of what went down. Fine went to a very interesting position after working for the Clinton campaign as Deputy General Counsel for Special Projects and Research. She was just promoted to Acting General Counsel for the Open Society Foundation, George Soros’ foundation. Meanwhile, Laura Seago has been given immunity, so one has to think Durham thinks she has critical information to offer.
The court order granting immunity to Fusion GPS’s Laura Seago has been unsealed.
And here is the newly unsealed motion to compel Seago’s testimony [in the Sussmann case], filed by Special Counsel Durham back in April 2022.https://t.co/Vg4ZdOP7fW pic.twitter.com/TzqEb2eaHo

On the other side of it, the defense calling Michael Horowitz is intriguing. But one of the names who won’t be testifying according to the Durham team, at least as of this point, is Christopher Steele.
But I have to think the folks in Clinton-land are starting to sweat.
