Chelsea was born on December 17, 1987, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA as the second child of her parents, Susan Fox and Brian Manning.

Brian was born in the United States, while Susan was a Welsh national. Chelsea’s father had enlisted in the US Navy in 1974 when he was just 19 years old, serving five years as an intelligence analyst. He then accepted a position as an IT manager with The Hertz Corporation, which entailed travel. While working at RAF Brawdy in Wales, Brian met Susan.

Casey Manning, Manning’s elder sister, was born in 1976. In 1979, the couple moved back to the country and first made their home in California. After relocating close to Crescent, Oklahoma, they started living as Americans, cultivating crops on their farm and raising animals to suit their requirements. To manage their money, the family relocated many miles from town, which impacted their family life.

She had a tough childhood as she constantly was exposed to her parent’s issues and their serious alcohol addiction. Her parents were both alcoholics, and her mother continued to drink nonstop while carrying Chelsea in her womb.

Due to several issues, her parents divorced when Manning was 13. There were several debates regarding the custody of the children. Eventually, Susan got control of the children, and they moved out of the USA and settled in her mother’s home country, Wales.

Between switching countries, Susan was fed up with her life and tried to take her own life but was saved by her daughters and rushed to the hospital. To be closer to her mother’s relatives, Manning and her mother relocated to Haverfordwest, Wales. Manning went to Tasker Milward Secondary School in the community. Manning was an accomplished saxophonist, scientist, and computer programmer who launched a website at ten.

Manning gained proficiency with PowerPoint, won the first prize in the neighborhood science fair three years in a row, and in sixth grade, won the state quiz bowl. She was highly eccentric, very political, opinionated, witty, and eloquent. So, she had no issues adapting to her new school’s new and competitive environment.
