Mabuse had won the Glitterball trophy in two consecutive years in the show. Unfortunately, she will be leaving the BBC show after seven years.

Oti Mabuse is leaving Strictly Come Dancing, after seven years.

The professional dancer has confirmed the news on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, via her Instagram.

Mabuse took to her profile and stated that she would not be returning to the BBC One dancing show after seven years.

She has posted a photo thanking all the crews on the BBC show and ending her caption as;

“I will always Keeeep Dancing! and I will never forget my amazing Strictly experience! Lots of Love Oti xxx @bbcstrictly @bbc”

Strictly Come Dancing paid tribute to Oti in a statement shared on their social media pages shortly after her own announcement.

It reads: ‘Oti has been a truly wonderful part of Strictly for the past seven years.”

“Her energy, creativity and talent have contributed to so many of the show’s most memorable moments and she will be hugely missed, not only by viewers, but the entire team.”

Where Is Oti Mabuse Going?

Oti Mabuse is going to a rival ITV channel, states the Daily Mail.

She had also worked as a show judge on The Masked Dancer and the current series of Dancing On The Ice.

As reported in 2021, Mabuse was among the highest-paid professional in Strictly Come Dancing.

The 31-year-old was earning over £410,000 from the BBC show and professional tours. Additionally, she earned around £2,340 per Instagram post.

It is estimated that Mabuse’s new salary will exceed £500,000 as a judge on a new show.

Her current net worth is reported to be $6 million as of 2022.

Oti Mabuse had struggled with mental health problems in past. 

Talking to Metro.co.uk in October 2021, the dancer had stated: “Dance has saved me. Because of dance, I was able to see the world.”

“I was able to move from South Africa to England, I met my husband, I met my best friends. So for my mental health, it’s given me everything.”
