Janie Jones whose real name is Marion Mitchell is still alive today. The news of Janie’s death is just a rumor; she is healthy and well

Janie had not intended to pursue a career as a pop singer. Janie was a cabaret performer who appeared all over London in the late 1950s, including at the Windmill Theatre.

Her career as a pop star peaked in 1966 with her chart smash, but subsequent recordings failed to chart in the United Kingdom.

In 1997, she released We’re In Love With The World Of Janie Jones, a collection of her singles.

She rose to prominence in August 1964, when she wore a topless outfit to the premiere of London in the Raw.

In 1974, the cabaret singer was found guilty of ‘managing prostitutes’ and sentenced to seven years in prison.

She met and befriended Myra Hindley, the Moors killer, while in prison, and made numerous media appearances saying that Hindley was a rehabilitated woman who should be released

Jones, on the other hand, developed a great loathing for Hindley after she ultimately confessed to her crimes in 1986. Her autobiography, The Devil and Miss Jones: The Twisted Mind of Myra Hindley, was published in 1993.
