- Veretout made his first-team debut for Nantes in a league match against Sedan on May 13, 2011. The next season, he made his debut in the team’s first match of the season, a 1-0 extra-time triumph against Reims in the Coupe de la Ligue. Veretout appeared in 146 games for Nantes over the course of five years.
- Veretout signed a five-year deal with Birmingham-based Premier League team Aston Villa on July 31, 2015, for an unknown amount thought to be in the region of £7 million. “I know Veretout is extremely highly valued over in France,” manager Tim Sherwood said of the player.
