JUSTIN Baldoni has admitted that he ‘wasn’t in the best place’ amid filming It Ends With Us, with the confession coming before his current legal battle with Blake Lively.
The actor, appears on the new episode of the Gent’s Talk podcast, which is hosted by Samir Mourani.
The episode was recorded in November, with the contents of the chat now coming to light after the legal battle with Blake started up.
Blake filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star before Christmas after a bitter feud began on set, with her accusing him of sexual harassment.
In response to Blake’s lawsuit, Justin has filed a federal countersuit against the actress, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and two publicists.
And now, in a chat that took place prior to the suits being filed, Justin spoke about not being in “the best place” and needing time to recover and heal from something.
Speaking on the new podcast, Justin explained how he sent a text to a pal about his mental health.
“This morning I sent a text message to my best friend Jamie and the president of my company Tera.
“And I told them that I wasn’t in the best place.
“I told them that I was exhausted, that I haven’t given myself time to recover or time to heal.
“I had a intense year, a lot of material success and a lot of emotional stress. [It] was very hard on me and my family,” he said emotionally.
‘NEED TIME TO HEAL’
Justin went on to say that he “wears a lot of hats” and “carries a lot”.
Speaking about the hard work he does for his company, he added how it can be hard not to be “overtaken by the wave of of success and opportunity”.
He added how the text he sent this morning said “I love you both, I just need you to know I’m not in the best place”.
Justin went on: “I woke up at 4:30 this morning, you know, my son’s had the flu. I’m not feeling great.
“My heart was racing, I’m noticing that I’m having some anxiety and when I check in with myself I realized that I just haven’t given myself the time time to heal from this year that I needed.
Statement from Justin Baldoni’s lawyer
Bryan Freedman, who represents Justin Baldoni, shared the following statement about the new lawsuit with The U.S. Sun.
“This lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team’s duplicitous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media,” Freedman claimed.
“It is clear based on our own all out willingness to provide all complete text messages, emails, video footage and other documentary evidence that was shared between the parties in real time, that this is a battle she will not win and will certainly regret.
“Blake Lively was either severely misled by her team or intentionally and knowingly misrepresented the truth.
“Ms. Lively will never again be allowed to continue to exploit actual victims of real harassment solely for her personal reputation gain at the expense of those without power.
“Let’s not forget, Ms. Lively and her team attempted to bulldoze reputations and livelihoods for heinously selfish reasons through their own dangerous manipulation of the media before even taking any actual legal action.
“We know the truth, and now the public does too. Justin and his team have nothing to hide, documents do not lie.”
“So let’s let’s prioritize our time and let’s make sure hat the things that we say yes to are things that we really feel will move the needle forward and can have impact.
“And I shared that with them,” he added, before saying how he also notified his assistant and publicist.
LEGAL WOES
This comes as Justin asks for $400 million in damages after being dropped by his agency, WME, which also represents Blake and her husband.
Justin is also suing The New York Times in a separate suit claiming the newspaper conspired with Blake’s PR team to push an “unverified and self-serving narrative” while ignoring evidence from him.
Danielle Rhoades, a Times spokesperson, said in a statement, “The allegations against The New York Times in this new lawsuit are meritless and recycled from the equally baseless claims in the suit that was filed against The Times in California.”
