Kamala Harris has been front and center in recent days. She came to Houston and toured the NASA Johnson Space Center on Friday. While there she did an interview with one of NBC’s chief Democrat propagandists, Chuck Todd, which aired Sunday morning during Meet the Press. On Saturday she delivered a speech at the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting at National Harbor in Maryland.

Her speech to the DNC was meant to encourage members to support Democrat candidates running for the Senate. She excitedly told her audience that flipping only two seats from Republican to Democrat will allow Joe Biden and Senate Democrats to do whatever they want to do legislatively. That’s enough to send a chill up the spine of Republicans but she’s quite giddy about the possibilities.

“With just two more seats in the Senate, we can codify Roe v. Wade, we can put the protections of Roe in law,” Harris said. “With two more seats in the United States Senate we can pass the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. Two more seats.”

“You know, our President Joe Biden, he’s been clear. He’s kinda done with those archaic Senate rules that are standing in the way of those two issues,” Harris said of the Senate filibuster – . “He’s made that clear and has said that he will not allow that to obstruct those two issues. And, you know, for me, as vice president, I’m also president of the Senate.… I cannot wait to cast the deciding vote to break the filibuster on voting rights and reproductive rights. I cannot wait! Fifty-nine days.”

Fumbling and bumbling Joe is “done with those archaic Senate rules”, you see. He’s completely embraced his authoritarian tendencies since moving into the White House and he’s ready to become the Supreme Leader. Joe and Kamala don’t need no stinkin’ Senate rules. She said that Democrats have momentum on their side she insisted that Democrats would keep control of the House and “expand” its Senate majority. “We need to hold on — and we will — hold on to the House of Representatives and expand our majority in the United States Senate,” Harris said.

Then she went on to present two scenarios. It’s all doom and gloom if Democrats don’t sweep the November mid-term elections.

“On that point, allow me to lay out two very real scenarios for you. First, imagine — I don’t want to — but imagine if we lost our Democratic majority in the Congress. Republican Party leaders have made it clear they want to ban abortion nationwide and they won’t stop there,” she added.

Harris insisted that “marriage equality” and “contraception” will be “on the line” if Republicans retake the majority of Congress.

“Without a Democratic majority in Congress, who knows what other rights they will come after,” Harris questioned. “Now, imagine a better future. Imagine what we can do if we defend the five seats we need to hold onto the majority in the House. Imagine what we can do if we protect, and better yet, expand our majority in the Senate. Imagine. We can then fight to ensure every worker has paid family leave. We can fight to ensure every family can afford childcare, we can fight to ensure every childcare provider is paid fairly, also.”

Those big bad Republicans are gonna deliver this country to hell in a handbasket, according to our deep-thinking vice-president. Democrats already hold majorities in the House, the Senate, and they hold the White House. Because they are the party in charge, voters will hold them accountable in November for whatever issues matter most to them. In my opinion, it will be kitchen table issues, the issues we all face everyday, like food and gas prices, inflation, interest rates rising, a slowdown in the real estate market, the open southern border, violent crime spikes in cities across America, and the list goes on. There is also the anniversary of the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan which will take decades, if ever, to recover from. The closer to November we get, the more shrill and angry Joe Biden becomes in his speeches, blaming “MAGA Republicans” for all the evil in the world. He doesn’t seem to realize that by criticizing that group, he criticizes all Republican voters. In the last presidential election, that was over 74 million people. Biden may have gotten the most votes of any presidential candidate but Trump got the second most votes in history. Does Biden think putting more than 74 million voters into a basket and calling them deplorables will end well for his party in November? We’ll know soon enough.

Kamala may be trying to play good cop to Creepy Joe’s bad cop on the campaign trail. She’s playing Polly Positive to get out the vote while declaring old Joe won’t put up with that pesky filibuster in the Senate.

During a speech in Durham, North Carolina, this month, Harris offered similar comments on the Senate rule, saying Biden would “not let the filibuster get in the way” of passing legislation that is meaningful to his agenda.

We’ll see if this works for them. Both Biden and Kamala are a hot mess when it comes to delivering remarks. Joe goes from a normal tone, to screaming, to that creepy whisper of his and Kamala serves up word salad on the regular. No one knows what either of them is saying. It’s probably best that way.
