Irony alert! Kamala Harris was a guest on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Monday night and during her warm and fuzzy interview, she trashed Texas Governor Greg Abbott for sending buses of illegal aliens to sanctuary cities. She called it “an absolute dereliction of duty.” You can’t make this stuff up.
Harris also called out Gov. Greg Abbott for sending migrants to Washington, D.C. and New York City as the Southern border receives a record influx of migrants. Recently, several busses full of migrants have been dropped off in front of Harris’ residence near the Naval Observatory.
“I just think it’s an absolute dereliction of duty. If you see a problem and we agree that we need to address it, then if you’re a leader, participate in a solution, right?” the vice president said. “They’ve fled great harm and they are coming here seeking refuge. Talk about political theater.”
She continued, “[He should] participate in the solution because we are offering solutions, but instead this gamesmanship with real human beings who trust us.”
Do tell, Kamala. What are these solutions you are offering to governors of border states to cope with the Biden border crisis? Team Biden keeps saying they have a plan for the southern border and yet none has been seen or implemented. Everyone with even the slightest interest in the southern border knows it is porous and overrun with migrants from all over the world crossing into the United States. The number of apprehensions in FY 2022 was more than 2 million. Eleven days into FY 2023 and the humanitarian crisis and chaos on the border continues. Yes, they are real human beings and the Biden administration thinks it is being humane by allowing the border to remain open to anyone who can cross into the US. The reality is that drug cartels are in control of much of the border, human traffickers exploit migrants, and people die trying to wade or swim across the Rio Grande River.
The dereliction of duty comes from the top of the Biden administration. Joe Biden has never been to the southern border – not just as president but never in his entire life. He chooses to remain clueless to what is happening on the ground. Kamala Harris was given the task of addressing the root causes of illegal immigration. Heckuva job, Kam. She has only been near the border once herself and then it was during a brief stop in El Paso, nowhere near the epicenter in the Rio Grande Valley. Kamala is the last person who should be criticizing anyone else for attempts to address the Biden border crisis.
Kamala seemed to have a memory lapse of what she did in her previous life as a district attorney in California. Once considered a hard-nosed prosecutor, believe it or not, and her track record is one of jailing people for marijuana violations. As a member of the Biden administration, she now wants to praise Sleepy Joe for his executive action to pardon prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession. Meyers began the interview talking about that.
“Let me just start with saying this: I strongly believe in, and the majority of Americans agree, nobody should have to go to jail for smoking weed, right?” Harris said to roaring applause from the audience.
“But Congress needs to act. We’re 29 days away from the midterms. Ask who you’re voting for, where they stand on this. And I encourage you to vote accordingly,” Harris said while facing the audience members.

During her time as California attorney general, 1,560 people were sent to state prisons for marijuana-related offenses between 2011 and 2016. You may remember Tulsi Gabbard hammering Kamala about that during a debate as they both competed in the Democrat primary in 2020 for the party’s nomination for president.
Needless to say, Seth Meyers didn’t bother to pursue that past record of Kamala’s and moved on to another subject.
Meyers did give Kamala the perfect set-up to go into speaking about her favorite topic – abortion. He asked what would be different if Democrats can win more Senate seats in the midterm elections next month. She launched into an attack on the Supreme Court for “taking a constitutional right” away from women when they ruled on the Dobbs case, returning the issue of abortion to states and out of the hands of the federal government.
“If we keep our numbers in the Senate and elect two more United States senators, then the president can sign into law the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would put into law the protections of Roe v. Wade. So critically important. 29 days to go,” Harris explained.
“Let’s take it seriously and let’s, you know, speak with our vote and undo what I think is a great travesty of justice as it relates to that Dobbs decision,” she said.
Fortunately, that will not happen. I don’t think, at this point, that Democrats will hold the Senate. I certainly don’t think they will elect two additional senators. It’s very important that voters do not reward Democrats with control of either the House or the Senate after they have driven the country off a cliff for the last two years.
The interview ended with Kamala gushing over Joe Biden. She called him “quite wonderful.” “I love Joe Biden – and I really do,” she said, smiling.
“He is very thoughtful and he is very kind. And, you know, so he is thoughtful about, you know, the American people in terms of the work we’ve done. And it’s been historic work,” she said, before listing off the administration’s accomplishments.
Kamala is the worst kind of hypocrite. She sure has a short memory, too, when it comes to her political career. We see you, Kamala. She can yuck it up on late night talk shows all she wants but voters in November aren’t going to be in a laughing mood.
