The event was soon described as “the most prestigious, highly-coveted invitation among the greater music community in Los Angeles” by Variety just weeks after it first took place.

Kanye, who is legally known as Ye, held a Sunday Service event for 60 minutes on every Sunday after the first one until it was paused in early 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Sunday Service Choir, which is referred to as Sunday Service, is an American gospel group led by the rapper and conducted by choir director Jason White.

The rapper and his gospel choir would perform spiritual renditions of his biggest hits every Sunday when the event ran, with them singing in front of a very elite group of friends, family ans famous pals.

Sunday Service has not made a return since it was paused in early 2020, with the rapper now making an exciting announcement.

Revealing that Sunday Service is coming back, Ye took to his Instagram account on Saturday to share the exciting news with his followers.

“WHAT? NO F***ING WAY,” added another.

“Please tell me he’s gonna return to God,” added a fourth.

While a fifth said: “Bro what? I ain’t even religious but spewing hate speech is NOT christ like,” referring to Kanye’s recent rants.

Kanye West’s recent controversies

Kanye West has faced a number of controversies in recent years.

In November 2022, a former Yeezy staffer alleged in a lawsuit Kanye showed them intimate photos of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Staffers also claimed he played pornography for them during meetings and talked about porn.

The star, who has been sued by multiple former employees, has denied all of the claims.

In October 2023, Adidas dropped the rapper as various social media sites barred him from their platforms for making anti-semitic comments online, in interviews, and with his clothing.

Amid pleas from fans and threats of major boycotts, Adidas announced its decision to terminate his contract.

Gap and Balenciaga followed suit.

Kanye has said in the past that he suffers from a porn addiction, making the comments in an online rant that has since been deleted.

KANYE’S RECENT UNHINGED RANTS

In February, Kanye caused a stir when he went on several vile rants on Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter, mocking domestic violence and praising Adolf Hitler.

The controversial rapper also repeatedly called for music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs to be freed from jail.

Kanye said “IM A NAZI” and “I LOVE HITLER” in his online rant, later saying: “Hitler was sooooo fresh.”

He later penned: “I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE F*** ANTI SEMETIC MEANS.”

In 2022, Kanye was widely condemned for similar comments which were described as “hateful” and “inexcusable”.

He was dropped by brands including GAP and Adidas over the anti-Semitic comments.
