KANYE West has defaulted on the property taxes for most of his real estate, leaving him with a mammoth bill that is going up by thousands in penalties every month.
In some cases, the rapper has been in debt for years at his houses, apartments, and workspaces in Los Angeles, along with his ranch in Wyoming.
In total, Kanye owes a minimum of $365,592 across six properties including penalties for non-payment – and he’s being hit with $3,272 in additional penalties per month.
He also has to pay a further $82,662 by April 10 on some of his Los Angeles properties otherwise he’ll be hit with more financial punishment from the Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector.
Despite Kanye, now known as Ye, claiming that he’s still a multi-millionaire, it’s yet more proof of his business empire being in flux as the star has mostly been situated in Japan in recent months.
Kanye has racked up the biggest debt at his derelict $6.7 million Yeezy HQ in West Hollywood, which remains empty after he had the roof torn off for reconstruction.
He’s accumulated arrears of $161,071 and is being stung with $1,435-a-month penalties.
Since purchasing the property in March 2023, it’s likely his firm Oxpaha LLC hasn’t ever paid the property tax.
In January 2023, he also bought a church building in Northridge for $1.5 million, which he’s also abandoned.
That’s strung up arrears of approximately $39,500 and $358 per month penalties – as he’s never paid taxes on the pad.
ABANDONED HEADQUARTERS
He also got a six-bed, six-and-a-half-bath ranch home in Calabasas, which he got from his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
Kanye has not paid taxes on the home since 2022 and owes $94,364 – with penalties of $1,103 per month, according to documents.
He has a second home in Calabasas, a three-bed, four-bath property, which he also got in the divorce, which has a tax debt of $51,179 since 2023 and penalties of $1,013 a month.
A Westlake three-bed townhouse he owns is also $6,240 in arrears since December.
Meanwhile, there are three parcels of land connected to his ranch in Cody, Wyoming.
The state is where he first set up his Yeezy headquarters and it was going to be the center of operations for his apparel and music before he backtracked on the project and moved it back to Los Angeles.
He bought the vast Monster Lake Ranch, renaming it West Lake Ranch, for $14.5 million in 2019.
The parcels have been delinquent since 2024 and owe a combined $13,215 in taxes with penalty costs unknown.
The U.S. Sun has made attempts to reach Kanye for comment regarding his unpaid property taxes.
Despite Kanye’s messy financial situation, he recently snapped up yet another new pad, that offers 11 bedrooms and 18 bathrooms.
NEW PAD
He purchased his $35 million abode in Beverly Hills late last year, which has 20,000 square feet of space.
The huge property has a stunning outdoor pool and tennis court and sits on a seven-acre plot of land.
Kanye’s mansion also includes an entertainment pavilion connected to the main house, plus a pool house and a gazebo.
Despite giving up their $10,000-a-month West Hollywood rental, Kanye and his wife Bianca Censori are yet to move into their lavish new home.
Instead, the couple has spent months living in Japan, amid reports he’s avoiding several legal cases back in California.
Kanye’s latest real estate purchase comes after he finally officially sold his crumbling Malibu mansion.
Before finding a buyer last summer, the property sat on the market for around six months.
Ye bought the home in 2021, after which he infamously gutted and abandoned it.
The mansion was first listed for sale in December 2023 for $53 million, but he was forced to drop the price to $39 million.
Despite the Los Angeles wildfires destroying many homes in Malibu, Kanye’s former home remains intact.
NEW HOME IN TOKYO
Kanye was last seen in Tokyo having been reunited with his children with ex Kim.
Kanye, 47, and kids Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, picked out snacks and drinks at a 7-Eleven convenience store in the Japanese capital’s Ginza district on Tuesday, January 14.
He has also posted footage of his eldest, 11-year-old North, with him on Instagram this week.
While Kanye has been laying low for months, the children have been staying with their mom in Los Angeles.
However, as The U.S. Sun reported, Kim and her entire family, including sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, and Kendall, fled Los Angeles due to the wildfires.
Kim’s $70 million Hidden Hills mansion was briefly in the danger zone, though she and the children have not lived there recently as it undergoes major renovations.
It was Kim’s turn to spend Christmas with their children after Kanye took them to a Los Angeles Dodgers Game in 2023.
This year, Kanye was said to be focusing on his fashion business and finishing off his upcoming album, Bully, which has been delayed.
He also flew to the Maldives to ring in the New Year with Bianca, before celebrating her 30th birthday with friends at a luxury resort.
Kanye pulled out all the stops and photographs on social media showed the pair locking lips and dancing together at the party.
