The 46-year-old O’Keefe, of Canton, was discovered outside his Fairview Road home just after 6 a.m. the next morning when heavy snowfall dumped over 20 inches of snow on the city and plunged temperatures as low as 12 degrees.

His death at Good Samaritan Hospital was announced by the attorney general’s office some hours later.

Following Reed’s arrest Tuesday night, Boston Police Superintendent Gregory Long issued a statement in which he claimed the department continues to mourn the devastating loss of our brother.
Long stated in a statement that, John was a wonderful person who was loyal to his family and will be missed by his coworkers and anybody he had the opportunity of meeting. The person responsible for John’s killing was apprehended today by the Massachusetts State Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Karen Reed: Prison And Mugshot Revealed

Moreover, Long expressed gratitude to state police investigators and the attorney general’s office, as well as Canton firefighters who were dispatched to Fairview Road early Saturday morning when O’Keefe was discovered outside.
Reed was detained and transferred to Blue Hills Barracks for processing by Massachusetts State Police on Tuesday night, and Morrissey said he will be a summons to Stoughton District Court on Wednesday morning.
