Having married Prince William in 2011, Kate Middleton has been in the public eye for over a decade. Ten years, one royal wedding and three royal babies later, the Duchess has the same enviable physique. Personal Trainer Michael Brigo revealed how.
Michael began: “The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has a slender and athletic physique which is most likely shaped by doing resistance-based gym workouts primarily focusing on strength training using bodyweight and weights.
“In addition, she’s an outdoorsy person and has been known to enjoy running, skiing and tennis. It wouldn’t surprise me if on average her run was 10km or above.”
Kate is rarely seen shying away away from working out or even some friendly sporting competition.
In fact, US Open Champion Emma Raducanu described the duchess’ forehand as “incredible” during a doubles game.
It seems that the royal will try her hand at any physical activity, whether it’s land yachting in St Andrews, archery lessons at The Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton, or Gaelic football with Irish children.
Additionally, let us not forget how Duchess Catherine and Prince William met; the now iconic royal couple bonded over a love of sports at St Andrews university, where Kate was reportedly involved with rowing, swimming, hockey and tennis.
She also achieved a gold Duke of Edinburgh Award at sixth form college, which is by no means a small feat.
The challenge requires candidates to participate in “anything that requires a sustained level of energy and physical activity” for several months, suggesting that the duchess has always been sporty.
In a press release later shared by the palace, Kate stated: “While getting my Gold Award was challenging at times, it is one of my most memorable experiences from growing up, and I could not recommend it more highly.”
A favourite exercise of Kate’s, that everyone can try, is the plank.
A royal insider reportedly stated: “There are three elements, the basic plank, the side plank and the prone skydiver, all of which are positions Kate can hold for 45 seconds or longer and repeat at least 10 times each.”
As for her diet, Kate fans may rejoice, as Dr Charlotte Norton, Medical Director at The Slimming Clinic, told Express.co.uk that the duchess’ main secret is simply having a balanced approach to food.
She stated: “Kate Middleton is very relatable (even down to her diet) and I think that’s one of the reasons why the nation loves her.

Those who want the duchess’ figure would do well to incorporate “protein (meat, fish, dairy, legumes, and nuts), carbs (whole grains), lipids (healthy oils), vitamins, minerals, and water” into their diet, according to Dr Norton.
Among some of her favourite raw foods are gazpacho, sushi, ceviche, and goji berries.
And despite not being a vegetarian, the royal also likes to stick to plant-based food when she can.
During her and William’s royal tour of India, Chef Raghu Deora, who cooked for the couple during their stay at the Taj Mahal Palace, revealed that they enjoyed vegetable kebabs and lentil curry, Hello! reported.
Raghu stated: “It is all vegetarian because I was told that was what they preferred.”

Dr Norton concluded: “I truly think Kate’s secret is consistency.
“There hasn’t been a moment in history so far where she has had a dramatic change in appearance, even post-pregnancy, and I think that’s due to being consistent with diet and exercise.”
However, in preparation for special occasions, the duchess reportedly takes special measures and follows the Dukan diet, which author Pierre Dukan claims is “the real reason the French stay thin”.
To get her looking slender ahead of her wedding in 2011, Kate allegedly tried the high-protein, low-carb diet.
This comprises four phases, Attack, Cruise, Consolidation and Stabilization, but ultimately encourages dieters to “eat as much as you like” of 100 protein and vegetable foods.
