Katie Price has celebrated avoiding jail for driving while drunk and under the influence of an illegal substance by having a booze free Christmas before embarking on ‘Dry January.’

The former glamour model, 43, was given a suspended sentence after crashing her car in the early hours of September 28 near the village of Partridge Green in West Sussex.

Katie later admitted she was intoxicated when emergency services arrived at the scene and tests carried out at the time tested positive for alcohol and Class A drug cocaine.

She recently completed her court assigned rehab order, with the TV personality ensuring she didn’t pick up a drink over the holiday period as she prepares to embark on a health kick in the new year.

Katie, who picked up son Harvey, 19, from his residential care home with the help of her fiancé Carl Woods, 32, for Christmas this week, is said to be determined to prove to friends and family she has turned her life around.

A source told The Sun: ‘Katie knows she is lucky not to be starting 2022 behind bars. She’s got a second chance and is determined to make the most of it.

‘Usually Katie would have a few drinks over Christmas but she has knocked that on the head and will be doing Dry January to get her mind and body right for 2022.

‘She is determined not to make the same mistakes next year that she has in the past few months. Her family are pleased because they just want to see Katie getting back to her best.’

The news comes after it was reported Katie is planning a tell-all book to document her drink and drug woes, including the lead-up to the crash.

She will also expose her enemies her eighth autobiography, with a source telling The Sun on Tuesday: ‘Katie’s contacted her publisher saying this one will be her most explosive yet – she’ll tell her side of what’s happened this year.

‘From her rows with her exes, escaping prison, the car crash – she’s planning to go all in and name and shame her enemies.

‘It will have a big focus on mental health and how she worked on hers in The Priory and hopes that readers and fans will be inspired by how she overcame her tough year. If she can do it, anyone can.’

Earlier this month, Katie issued a grovelling apology after avoiding jail for her drug and booze-fuelled car crash.

She said she was ‘incredibly sorry’ and was working hard to address her mental health issues.

She said: ‘It’s been a really difficult time and I’m incredibly sorry for my actions – I’m sincerely grateful nobody was hurt.

‘I’m spending time getting better – mental health is a hidden illness and can strike at any time,’ she added.

Campaigners were furious after the television personality walked free from court, despite crashing her Range Rover during her fifth driving ban.

She told police at the scene: ‘I took drugs. I should not be driving. I admit it all.’
