Kaushal Tambe is an Indian professional cricketer who came to prominence in February 2022 as an integral member of the Indian squad that had won the 2022 ICC (International Cricket Council) Under-19 Cricket World Cup. This was India’s 4th successive appearance in the final of the tournament after losing efforts in 2016 and 2020 and a winning campaign in 2018. This was also the 5th time that India had lifted the trophy after victorious campaigns in 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2018. A couple of months before this, in December 2021, Kaushal was a key part of the Indian squad that had triumphed at the 2021 ACC (Asian Cricket Council) Under-19 Asia Cup. This was the 8th time that India had won this competition out of the 9 editions that had been played. In February 2022, he had been selected by the Maharashtra Cricket Association to represent Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy (India’s premier domestic first-class cricket competition).

- In the first match of the 2021 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, against the United Arab Emirates, Kaushal had produced miserly figures of 2/16 in 4 overs, at an economy rate of 4. India had bundled the UAE out for 128 runs to win the match by a massive margin of 154 runs.
- In the last group stage match, a virtual knockout against Afghanistan, he was India’s best bowler with figures of 1/25 in 8 overs. His tidy spell was crucial in limiting Afghanistan to a total of 259 runs.
- In the chase, he had come out to bat with India struggling at 197/6 in the 38th over and facing an early exit from the tournament. He had then stitched together an unbroken 65-run stand with Raj Bawa to steer India to the target in the 49th over with no further casualties.
