With Christmas quickly approaching, it means Santa Claus will be visiting malls all over the country to meet the good boys and girls.
While this experience is exciting for most kids, it can be very overwhelming and nerve-wracking for children with special needs or those who struggle with sensory issues.
La Palmera mall in Corpus Christi, Texas, came up with a brilliant way to allow these kids to meet Santa, without having to worry about the crowds, loud music, or sensory overload.
The entire mall is closed during the time with Santa, so the kids can take pictures in a quiet setting with less people. The meetings are by reservation only, which also gives those who may have developmental or physical challenges extra time to visit with Santa.

One family even traveled nearly three hours from Laredo so that their two sons could enjoy this special one-on-one time with Santa.
They hope more places will follow suit and have quiet events with Santa so kids with special needs will be able to meet him as well.
If you live in the area, there will still be two more events with the ‘Sensory Santa’ on December 5th and December 12th from 9 to 11 in the morning at La Palmera Mall.
