1. She used to watch the films of actor and filmmaker Maruthur Gopala Ramachandran (M.G.R.) and that inspired her to pursue a career in acting.
2. Her sister and father supported her dreams of becoming an actor.
3. Kovai Sarala was in 9th grade when she was offered her first film role in the film Velli Ratham.
4. When she was in 10th standard, she was cast as Arukkani, a 32-year-old pregnant woman, in the 1983 Tamil-language romantic comedy film Mundhanai Mudichu.
5. She played the role of Venkamma, Annavaram’s wife, in the 2000 Telugu film Rayalaseema Ramanna Chowdary and this role won Kovai Sarala a Nandi Award in the “Best Female Comedian” category.
