An actress who starred alongside one of the women accusing Danny Masterson of rape testified on Thursday that her ‘shaken’ friend confided in her that she had been attacked.

Jordan Ladd, 47, told the court that she was shocked when Jane Doe 2 told her about the night in late 2003 the actor allegedly raped her in his shower and again in his bedroom.

‘It was a difficult conversation,’ said Ladd, who has been on-and-off friends with fellow actress Jane Doe 2 since the two were in a movie together more than 20 years ago.

‘She revealed to me that she had experienced something that I recognized as date rape.’

Three women – Jane Does 1, 2 and 3 – all accuse Masterson, 46, of raping them inside his Hollywood Hills home from 2001-3.

The women allege he plied them with alcohol before assaulting them and sometimes attacked them while they were unconscious. One said that representatives from Scientology pressured her not to report the crimes to the police.

Masterson has denied their allegations.

On Thursday, Ladd testified that Jane Doe 2 spoke to her after the alleged attack.

‘She appeared shaken and she was physically shaking. She was emotional…she was trembling in her speech,’ said Ladd.

‘She said she had sex with Danny Masterson and she kept saying ‘no’ and ‘I don’t want to do this’ and she kept saying no over and over again.

‘She said he did not stop and she gave up.’

Asked by Deputy District Attorney Ariel Anson how she reacted to her friend’s revelation, Ladd said: ‘I was shocked. I felt helpless, at a loss for words.

‘She absolutely said, ‘Do not tell anyone.’ She seemed afraid, confused.

‘She adamantly shut me down and was terrified that I would say something to someone.’

Ladd – who has starred in several Hollywood horror movies – said that she had been ‘quite friendly’ with Masterson until the Jane Doe 2 episode.

But when she found herself in the wedding party with Masterson at a marriage ceremony the following summer, ‘He was rather cold and chilly to me.’

Under cross examination by Philip Cohen, Masterson’s attorney, Ladd – who is not a Scientologist – said that during her conversation with Jane Doe 2 about the alleged rape, she said she was worried about catching a sexually transmitted disease because Masterson had not worn a condom.

‘She was embarrassed,’ she added.

Asked by Cohen if Jane Doe 2 said it was her idea to go into the shower with Masterson, Ladd said: ‘No.’

And when Cohen asked her if, even after the incident, Jane Doe 2 told her she and Masterson ‘were probably going to start dating,’ again she responded: ‘No.’

Earlier on Thursday, a Los Angeles detective who investigated the case said she told his three accusers not to talk to each other or the press, and was subsequently shocked when their allegations appeared in the media.

Detective Esther Reyes, a 29-year veteran of the LAPD, told a court on Thursday that she was adamant the trio avoid action which would ‘damage or contaminate’ the police investigation into their cases against the Scientologist and actor.

All three accusers have admitted in court that they communicated with each other after being interviewed in 2017 by Reyes.

Reyes on Thursday told the court that she had warned all three not to talk to each other or to other possible witnesses.

Masterson’s attorney, Philip Cohen, asked Reyes about ‘cross contamination’ in an investigation.

She explained that if alleged victims or witnesses speak to each other, ‘their recollections may be different because they have spoken to each other.’

Reyes agreed with Cohen that independence is essential.

‘It’s important to get a witness’s independent recollection that has not been influenced in any way by talking to other witnesses,’ she said.

She added that she was concerned about the possible ‘damage’ to her investigation that could be caused by the three accusers speaking to each other about the case.

Reyes told the court that she told Jane Does 1 thru 3 that they should also not talk to the press or media during the investigation – but she later learned that ‘information had been released to the press by one or more of the Jane Does.’

All the alleged rapes are said to have taken place in Masterson’s $6.2 million mansion in the Hollywood Hills

Jane Doe 2 also spoke to her mother – a Scientologist at the time – a day or two after the 2003 incident with Masterson.

And on Thursday, the elderly mother fought back tears as she recounted that conversation with her daughter.

‘She was very upset,’ said her mother.

‘She said he was coming at her from behind like a jackhammer and relentless and she told him to stop and he wouldn’t stop.’

Asked by Anson if her daughter ever used the word rape in that conversation, her mother replied: ‘Not that I remember. I remember her saying she was being pounded.’

Cross examined by Cohen, Jane Doe 2’s mother denied his suggestion that after the sex encounter at Masterson’s house her daughter still wanted to be romantically involved with the actor.

‘I remember her saying she wanted to have a date – and it turned out to be something very different,’ she added.

Masterson, the married father of an eight-year-old daughter, has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The star of TV’s That ’70s Show is facing a sentence of 45 years to life in prison if he’s convicted.

Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, is on the witness list because she was formerly a Scientologist.

All three accusers were also Scientologists, and Masterson remains an active member of the Church.

Masterson – who has been free on $3.3 million bail since his arrest in June 2020 – arrived at the court in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday in a gray jacket, beige pants, off-white shirt and gray striped tie for the 10th day of his trial.

His accusers – whom DailyMail.com is identifying only as Jane Does 1 through 3 – are all former Scientologists and are also suing him and the Church of Scientology in civil court, claiming that they’ve been harassed, stalked and intimidated since reporting him to police.
