“Throughout the course of the investigation, concerned friends inquired about the possibility of ingesting opiates or other substances,” he explained. “Tests for fentanyl and opiates are negative. Additionally, designer opiates are being tested, and the results are negative as well.” Stanzione also conducted tests for the presence of nutritional supplements, alcohol, medications, or prohibited substances, all of which came back negative. Nonetheless, he stated, an overdose or drowning remain a possibility.

“Amanda Blank’s position in the bathtub, combined with the edema in her airway, suggests an overdose; however, drowning cannot be ruled out,” he said. Stanzione wrote that he cannot determine the cause of Mandy’s death without knowing her circumstances prior to her death. “Because the terminal events surrounding her final moments are unknown, the manner of her death is unknown,” he explained. “If additional evidence becomes available, the case will be re-examined.”
