Marie Osmond has been in the public eye since the tender age of 12, with her adoring public looking on as her weight fluctuated throughout the years.

However, the singer has revealed she lost a staggering 50lbs nearly 20 years ago and managed to keep it off entirely through a health and fitness program that she’s since become an ambassador for.

Following her acting debut on The Bold and The Beautiful late last year, the former The Talk panelist told the Daily Mail that it was Nutrisystem’s regiment that helped her shed the pounds and “changed my life for the better”.

She singled out the Complete 50 program, revealing a full circle moment as she has introduced just over 50 people to the program and is celebrating just over 50 years in the music industry.

The 64-year-old revealed that maintaining a healthy weight and a consistent fitness regimen is even more vital to her due to her bustling career as she is set to spend the next few months on tour.

The Paper Roses singer candidly admitted that her star power has brought her many brand endorsement and ambassador opportunities but claimed she’s “turned a lot down because I really have to believe in the product”.

The mother-of-seven gleefully noted that the program doesn’t villainize desserts or require participants to “starve yourself”.

Marie even still grabs her favourite desserts from time to time, revealing that just the other day she “split a cheesecake with my friend”.

The Hollywood star revealed that she decided to make a change in 2007, as she was preparing to join the cast of Dancing with the Stars and discovered that her “knees were shot with the extra 50 pounds I had”.

She admitted she started “panicking” and fans will recall during one of the first episodes Marie suffered a fainting spell.

Marie and her professional partner Jonathan Roberts had just finished their samba and were listening to the judges’ comments when the singer suddenly collapsed.

She spoke to Entertainment Tonight shortly after the incident saying she had been “lightheaded” throughout the evening and “couldn’t get my breath” but blamed allergies and the air quality in Los Angeles.

When it comes to exercise, the globe-trotting singer still keeps active even when she’s not performing by walking whenever she can, joking that she’s a “multitasker” as she listens to her audiobooks while she’s out strutting.
