We’ve been covering the Hunter Biden laptop story for the past two years.

When Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) brought out more information this week about payments to Hunter Biden’s firm from a company that they called an “effective arm” of the Chinese government, this was not new to our readers as we have extensively covered the Biden contacts with China.

Even though Republicans have also been talking about this for the past two years, suddenly the liberal media is reporting on Hunter Biden after spinning and ignoring the issue for most of the time. We saw the Washington Post join the New York Times in finally getting around to reporting on some of the issues. That’s how you know that they know something is coming, they’re just trying to get out in front of it and spin it as best as they can.

ABC, for example, limited it to Hunter Biden’s “tax affairs” although it’s already been made clear by the FBI that the investigation involves many more questions than that. They do note that the grand jury has been meeting and hearing witnesses.

CBS — with investigative reporter Catherine Herridge — had one of the better takes, pointing out some of the other areas being looked into including money laundering and foreign lobbying laws.

The White House claimed that Biden “never considered being in business with family or any business overseas.” This is backpedaling from Joe Biden’s prior claim that he didn’t know anything about his son’s business or his business associates. Why? Because the laptop showed what a lie that was.

CNN’s John Harwood tried to save Biden claiming, “There is zero evidence that Vice President Biden, or President Biden, has done anything wrong in connection with what Hunter Biden has done.”

This, of course, is untrue. So we’re supposed to ignore the evidence that we’ve seen in the laptop about Hunter’s business associates getting to meet with Joe Biden when he was Vice President and things like the “10 held by H for the big guy” email? We’re supposed to ignore that Hunter and Joe had shared finances, that Hunter paid bills for Joe, that Hunter’s business associate was intimately involved with Joe Biden’s finances? So what Hunter responded in the CBS report — that his father hadn’t benefitted “directly or indirectly” — is not the case. That’s one of the reasons it isn’t just about Hunter: It’s about comingling, conflicts, and influence peddling, among other things.

But CNN does tease something very interesting in another report.

Did you catch it? They’re teasing that the investigation also is looking into who paid off Hunter’s big tax bills recently. That raises interesting questions, particularly if it’s connected to a foreign government and/or if it was paid off in the last year when Joe was in office.

But given the reports that they have witnesses going before the grand jury, it sounds like we may be hearing something soon.
