Sam Burgess reportedly failed a random roadside drug test and denied using illicit substances.
When Police stopped the 34-year-old at Kingsford on Thursday morning for a random test, he allegedly operated a BMW x5.
According to the Police, registration checks showed Burgess was driving with a suspended license, reported Daily Mail. Moreover, a court date for driving a vehicle with a suspended license has been set.
The assistant coach reportedly had a positive cocaine test, but he later denied using drugs on social media.
Burgess was taken to the Maroubra Police Station and charged with operating a vehicle while suspended.
An NSW Officers spokesman said inquiries are ongoing, and Police await the results of a subsequent oral fluid analysis.
