Meghan Markle’s slim physique has not changed much since she was first thrown into the limelight as an actress in Suits, playing the role of Rachel Zane from 2011. How has the Duchess maintained her ideal weight?
Meghan has opened up about both her diet and exercise in the past, speaking in various interviews about what she does to stay slim and healthy.
The Duchess of Sussex’s diet involves eating a balance of foods: she makes sure to eat healthily, but isn’t afraid to treat herself once in a while.
One thing Meghan ensures to eat every day is breakfast, according to the royal biography Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family, by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.
“Her [Meghan’s] morning ritual started with a cup of hot water and a slice of lemon,” Omid and Carolyn wrote.

“I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet – it’s lifestyle eating.”
However, Meghan did used to eat meat, revealing she liked to cook big dishes for her and her family or friends.

“I am a big fan of Sunday suppers,” she told TODAY back in 2012.
“Whether we’re eating lamb tagine, pot roast or a hearty soup, the idea of gathering for a hearty meal with friends and family on a Sunday makes me feel comforted.
“I enjoy making slow-cooked food on Sundays, like Filipino-style chicken adobo. It’s so easy – combine garlic, soy, vinegar, maybe some lemon and let the chicken swim in that sauce until it falls off the bone in a Crock Pot.”
As for exercise, Meghan enjoys working out often during the week – opting usually for yoga.
“I love an intense vinyasa class,” she said.
“And even better if it’s blasting hip-hop and done in a dark room with candlelight. The best.”
The Duchess told Women’s Health: “I’ll do yoga a couple of times a week. Hot yoga specifically.”
