Skin Cancer Risk
Cases of melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer, are rising globally. It begins in the melanocytes (cells that control the pigment in the skin). Overexposure to sunlight is known to be the main cause of melanoma. In some cases, genetic factors also play a role, with about 10 per cent of cases having a family history of the disease. Although it’s a serious skin cancer, melanoma is curable if caught early. So, let’s find out who are more prone to developing skin cancer.
