Michael Imperioli is an American actor, writer, director, and musician who is best known for his work in films such as Goodfellas (1990), Bad Boys (1995), High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story (2003), The Hungry Ghosts (2009), Cantinflas (2014), and One Night in Miami (2020). He is also well recognized for his portrayal of characters such as Christopher Moltisanti in the crime drama TV series The Sopranos (1999–2007), Detective Ray Carling in the sci-fi crime drama TV series Life on Mars (2008–2009), Lex in the comedy thriller TV series Mad Dogs (2015–2016), and Rick Sellitto in the crime drama TV series Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector (2020). Besides his prolific body of acting work, he has co-written the screenplay for the 1999 crime thriller film Summer of Sam and 5 episodes of The Sopranos. He had also written and directed the 2009 drama film The Hungry Ghosts. He has also been the vocalist and guitarist for a rock band named La Dolce Vita and another band called Zopa. In 2020, Zopa had released their debut album titled La Dolce Vita.

- Born in Mount Vernon, New York, Michael had moved to Brewster, New York, when he was about 11 years old. It was around that time that he had first started watching Broadway plays and had soon decided that he would pursue an acting career.
- Having started his acting career in 1989, an early minor role that had brought him some recognition was the character of Spider in the iconic 1990 biographical crime drama film Goodfellas. In the film, he had portrayed a local kid who works for the gangsters and eventually gets shot in the foot and later killed by a psychopathic mob soldier played by Joe Pesci.
- In a tribute to that scene, his character of Christopher Moltisanti, in the TV series The Sopranos (1999–2007), shoots someone in the foot. For his portrayal of this character, he had won a Primetime Emmy Award in the category of ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series’ in 2004.
