Mopreme Shakur Facts

  1. While growing up, he was influenced by soul and disco music.
  2. Shortly after Tupac’s death in 1996, Mopreme and other members of Outlawz smoked the rapper’s ashes by mixing it with marijuana. He and his friends performed the act as a tribute to Shakur, who had referenced it in his song titled Black Jesuz.
  3. He contributed to the soundtrack of the 2003 film Intoxicating, which starred actors like Eric Roberts, Kirk Harris, and John Savage.
  4. Mopreme founded Thug Life along with Tupac Shakur, Big Syke, Macadoshis, and The Rated R in 1993. The group released their only album called Thug Life: Volume 1 in 1994. The album garnered critical acclaim and was certified ‘Gold’ by the RIAA upon its release.
