A restaurant has been awarded the Guinness World Record for serving the most expensive portion of fries.
Serendipity3 in New York will offer the ‘creme de la creme pommes frites’ for a whopping $200.
The dish is made high quality Chipperbec potatoes, which are triple cooked in posh pure goose fat from France.

Finally they are seasoned with Guerande truffle salt, sprinkled with 23 carot edible gold dust and served on a Baccarat crystal Arabesque plate for a touch of added opulence.
With no ketchup in sight, the chips come with mornay sauce made with udder cream, black truffle butter, gruyere truffled Swiss raclete.
Chefs at the famed New York eatery, which counts singer Selena Gomez as an investor and has been featured in dozens of films and TV shows, celebrated the news on Instagram yesterday,.

They wrote: ‘Chef Joe and Chef Freddy are celebrating #NationalFrenchFryDay the right way… making the world’s most expensive fries that will be available on the menu for a whopping $200.

The recipe was crafted by chefs Joe Calderone and Frederick Schoen-Kiewer and will be joining the menu soon.
Creative director Joe said: ‘We are so honoured to be recognised by Guinness World Records for our creation of the most expensive French fries – the Creme de la Creme Pommes Frites – and look forward to creating even more over-the-top recipes in the future.’
This title accompanies the eatery’s existing records which include the most expensive milkshake, sandwich, and dessert.
Chefs there have also constructed the largest wedding cake and biggest cup of hot chocolate.
In 2014, they created the most expensive sandwich in the world for $214.
Edged in 24-carat gold, the upmarket take on a classic grilled cheese is made with the finest ingredients such as champagne, lobster and truffle oil.
