A woman was allegedly busted driving more than four times over the legal alcohol limit, while a young child sat ‘extremely distressed’ in the front seat without her belt on.
The 46-year-old was allegedly seen swerving across the road and mounting gutters in a blue Holden Trax in Warilla, Shellharbour, south of Sydney on Friday around 5.40pm.
Police managed to track the car down at about 7.10pm in nearby Warrawong but the woman attempted to flee.
A low-speed police chase then allegedly ensued until the 46-year-old was stopped near an intersection shortly after.

‘A five-year-old girl was found unrestrained in the front-passenger seat, physically unharmed but extremely distressed,’ NSW Police said.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Lake Illawarra Police Station where she blew 0.263 on a breath test.
Her car has been confiscated for three months and her license suspended.
The 46-year-old was charged with several offences including driving dangerously, not stopping when directed and driving with a high range percentage of alcohol content.
She has been refused bail and will face court on Saturday. The young girl is being cared for by family members.
