Her entire family and friends were devastated when they learned of her death. Everyone was devastated to learn that she had three small children, and no one knew how they would survive without her.

CMPD: Who Was Mia Goodwin?

Mia Goodwin was a parent of three children and a police officer in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. She was 33 years old at the time of her death.

She had been a police officer for six years. She was a member of the University City Division during her time there.

She was killed in a tractor-trailer incident. She was a third-shift cop who had recently returned from maternity leave when the accident occurred. 

Her colleague describes her as a very obedient, hardworking, and devoted police officer.

Mia Goodwin Husband 

Mia Goodwin was the wife of Charlotte firefighters Brenton Goodwin and mother of three children of age 3-year-old, a 1-year-old, and a 4-month-old.

Her husband and family must be struggling, as she has left them with three small children.

It’s difficult to imagine life without a mother; it’s even more challenging to lose your mother when you’re a child who doesn’t grasp what’s going on.

Mia Goodwin Accident Video – What happened To Her?

Mia Goodwin and her coworkers were on their way to relieve the cops on that shift when they were hit by a tractor-trailer and the cab of a semi-truck that had collided. According to the department, she died in a crash on I-85 South near W.T.

According to the CMPD, officers were on the scene of a separate incident around 3:40 a.m. on I-85 South when two tractor-trailers collided, causing those vehicles to hit the cops.

One of the cops who was hit while in her vehicle with Mia reported in the crash and began tending to the other injured officers, including herself.

While three additional officers were treated at the hospital and discharged, Mia was pronounced dead on the spot after the incident.
