NADYA Suleman has become a grandma for the first time – almost 15 years after she gave birth to octuplets.
The parent-of-14, known as the Octomom, announced the news on her Instagram account on Sunday evening.
She shared a heartwarming photo that showed a newborn’s toe poking out of a pink blanket.
“Thank you my son and my lovely daughter-in-law for giving us this beautiful gift,” Suleman posted on Instagram.
“We are so blessed that she is a new addition to our family!
“Baby girl you are so loved and we can’t wait to watch you grow!”
Suleman, of California, ended the post with the date: 8/30/24 so it seems the baby is less than a month old.
She made the announcement just weeks after her third-oldest child Joshua turned 21.
Suleman is a mom to 14 children and she had all of them through in-vitro fertilization.
She hit the headlines in 2009 when she became a parent to octuplets.
She named them Nariyah, Isaiah, Maliyah, Jeremiah, Noah, Josiah, Jonah, and Makai.
Her other kids are Elijah, Amerah, Aidan, Calyssa, and Caleb.
In January, Suleman shared a throwback picture of her brood when they were babies to commemorate their 15th birthday.
“I am so proud of the young adults you are growing into,” she gushed.
“Stay true to yourselves, humble, kind, and honest.
“I am so grateful for your love, and am beyond blessed to have you in my life.”
Suleman has never revealed the identity of the octuplets’ dad and he was only described as an “unidentified sperm donor” in a New York Times article in 2018.
More than 40 doctors and nurses were needed when Suleman gave birth.
In 2009, she told NBC News that it had always been her dream to have a big family.
“I just longed for connections and attachments with another person that I – I really lacked, I believe, growing up,” she said.
After giving birth, Suleman struggled financially and turned to the adult film industry and stripping.
At the time, she was a single mom and was reliant on food stamps.
And, she had spent money on plastic surgery to be like Angelina Jolie.
Away from the public limelight, she also struggled with alcohol and drugs and checked herself into rehab.
Just years after giving birth to the octuplets, Suleman filed for bankruptcy and told ENews she needed a fresh start.
At the time of the filing, she owed around $1 million in debts.
Suleman boasts 250,000 followers on Instagram and most of her content revolves around her family.
One post from 2022 said her family’s life revolves around God, food, and fitness.
