Just weeks after the final seven episodes of Ozark debuted on Netflix, the streaming service paid tribute to one of its more beloved characters, Julia Garner’s Ruth.
Ruth appeared in all 44 episodes of the crime drama series over its four-season run, quickly becoming a fan favorite.
A new video from Netflix YouTube honors the beloved character… after she was brutally killed in the series finale.

The video begins with a shot of Ruth pulling a gun out of a safe, as she says in voice over, ‘I used to not even think about the future, because, you know, what was the point?’
Ruth was introduced in the pilot as the 19-year-old woman part of a local criminal family in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, who quickly endeared herself to fans.
The video also shows her leaving the local prison, where her father Cade (Trevor Long) spends most of the series.
Gun: The video begins with a shot of Ruth pulling a gun out of a safe, as she says in voice over, ‘I used to not even think about the future, because, you know, what was the point?’

We also see Ruth in one of her more memorable moments from Season 3, kicking Frank Cosgrove Jr. (Joseph Sikora) in the balls and throwing him overboard from the riverboat casino.
She’s seen tearfully confiding in her father as she says in voice over, ‘I’ve been trying to become a better person’ while another shot shows her standing over her father’s corpse.

Ruth and her cousin Wyatt (Charlie Tahan) are seen digging Wyatt’s own grave in a bizarre vision, while Ruth adds, ‘But I know I gotta keep myself right.’
First kiss: ‘Think about people besides myself,’ she adds in voice over, as she’s seen meeting Ben Davis (Tom Pelphrey) as they share their first kiss

‘And I’m trying my best every day,’ she adds, while she’s seen around her crime family and climbing on top of a trailer with Wyatt.
‘But I’m just a young girl,’ Ruth says, as the video comes to an end, revealing Ozark Season 4 is now streaming in its entirety on Netflix.

Ozark showrunner Chris Mundy has hinted at Ozark spin-off shows, now that the main series has come to an end, though Ruth won’t be featured.
When asked in an interview with TVLine if Ruth is actually dead, Mundy said, ‘I’m sorry; she totally, absolutely is.’
Ruth was killed after new mafia boss Camila Elizonndro (Veronica Falcon) learns that Ruth killed her son, and swiftly avenges her son’s death by gunning Ruth down in front of her trailer, in the final minutes of the series finale.
