The critically acclaimed David Hasselhoff mourned his ex-wife’s death and asked for privacy.
“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” the actor told TMZ in a statement.
“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”
Bach-Hasselhoff and David, 72, married in December 1989, four years after first meeting on the set of the NBC crime drama Knight Rider.
The couple share two daughters, Taylor, 34, and Hayley, 32.
However, their marriage ended in a bitter divorce in January 2006, with Bach-Hasselhoff accusing the former Dodgeball star, 72, of domestic abuse.
David denied the domestic abuse allegations at the time.
Bach-Hasselhoff and David had repeated battles over spousal support, which continued in court until 2017.
David even lost visitation privileges with his daughters after a video, which was recorded by one of his daughters, surfaced of the actor drunk on the floor during an alcohol relapse.
“I think that – I don’t think, I know. It is her cry for help because she sees there’s nothing else going to work,” Bach-Hasselhoff said of her daughter in the video during an appearance on Larry King Live in 2007.
“As I have tried, thinking if I just pour out the bottles, if I just be by his side, if I just babysit him, give him more love, do more for him or make him see himself, it will get there.
“But the disease of alcoholism is cunning. It’s a baffling disease.”
Bach-Hasselhoff told King that her ex-husband’s struggles with alcohol was the reason for their divorce.
