PETE Davidson’s friends are concerned about the comic after he was spotted holding a beer at a party despite his claims to be sober.
In a video, revealed exclusively by The U.S. Sun, Pete, 31, was seen dancing with a Miller Lite beer in an Instagram story that was deleted shortly after it was posted.
The video was taken after the Philadelphia Eagles clinched their NFC championship win and posted among a slew of others by the Bupkis star’s pal on February 6.
The NFC championship game was played on January 26, and it appears that Pete and his friends were partying in the team’s locker room after the big win.
It was unclear why Pete’s buddy waited nearly two weeks after the game to post about it.
The account it was shared to boasts over 150,000 followers.
In one video Pete is seen bopping along to the music in the Eagles locker room while sauntering with the beer in hand.
In a second video, Pete is seen dancing with a beer while swinging what appears to be a rally towel around his head as he circles locker room personnel.
One insider close to Pete insisted he was not drinking during the locker room celebrations.
“His friend went to the bathroom and asked him to hold his beer. It was a closed beer that his friend asked him to hold, and he did not drink it,” the insider said.
After the January game, it appeared the celebrations continued into the night, with Pete and his pals hitting up South Philly sports bar Chickie’s & Pete’s, per photos posted to bar’s Instagram.
One concerned friend who saw the video told The U.S. Sun “Pete’s been trying to rehab his image, but he’s still running with the wrong crowd.”
“Of all the people he threw out of his life recently, it’s surprising he’s kept certain people around him,” the insider added.
Over this past weekend, Pete was seen at the Super Bowl with water in hand as he posed for photos on the field alongside Kevin Costner.
An insider who was with the comedian through Super Bowl weekend told The U.S. Sun, “People are really proud of how well he’s doing.”
“He was hanging with Kevin Costner at a lot of these events,” the source said.
“He was only drinking water, and was making sure everyone around him was taken care of, and he was passing around waters to everybody.”
The insider added that even in New Orleans, where there was much temptation, Pete was “incredibly well-behaved and perfect, and everyone thought he did great.”
PRESS TOUR
The comedian who stars in the new animated film Dog Man, has been doing press for the movie.
He went on the Today Show on January 31 and opened up about sobriety and his decision to remove his tattoos.
“I got sober and I saw myself in the mirror, and I was like nah. I was like, I need to change it up a little bit,” he told Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin.
He also sat down with Seth Meyers on Thursday, February 6, and told the late-night host that he must have bought a fish tank before his sobriety journey.
“I went to rehab for four months, came back [and] that was just in the living room,” he told Seth as he showed him a photo of a professionally installed 150-gallon fish tank in his upstate New York home.
SOBRIETY JOURNEY
In December, a source told The U.S. Sun that Pete was focusing on himself after checking into rehab in the summer of 2024.
“Pete had an issue, so he went to rehab,” a source said at the time.
“That took time, and he’s still trying to restore normalcy to his life.”
“He had a problem, he got help for it, and he is completing proper post-rehab treatment,” they added.
GETTING HELP
In November, The U.S. Sun reported that the Bodies, Bodies, Bodies star had checked into treatment in Florida.
An insider at the time explained that Pete “has a therapist in Florida who works on processing traumatic memories and dealing with PTSD.”
Pete Davidson’s Rehab Stints
Pete first checked into rehab in 2016 as he was diagnosed with BPD and PTSD.
In 2019, he went to the Sierra Tucson Treatment Center in Arizona.
The comedian underwent treatment at another mental health facility in June 2023.
Most recently, he checked back into rehab at the end of July 2024.
A source revealed that Pete had left the facility after only a few weeks.
They added that the 31-year-old often travels to the Sunshine State to see his therapist on a “regular basis for treatment.”
The insider also said at the time that while the Saturday Night Live alum may at times struggle with his mental health, he is still “clean and in a good headspace.”
Pete’s been open about his sobriety journey and has been to rehab several times through the years.
REHAB REDO
The King of Staten Island star has checked into rehab at least four times in the past.
In 2018 in an interview with Variety, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder after years of battling depression and anxiety.
He said that spurred him to check into a rehab program in December of 2016.
Pete last checked into rehab in July of this year.
His mental health taking a front seat, Pete went ahead and canceled several of his standup dates for his Prehab tour to attend rehab.
A source told The U.S. Sun at the time that the 31-year-old checked out of the treatment center just weeks after he checked in.
An insider had called his summer stint “a really short stay.”
