PETE Davidson is taking his sobriety seriously and slowly figuring out his next career move after his summer rehab stint.

An insider told The U.S. Sun that Pete, 31, has been focused on staying clean as he plans for his future.

“Pete had an issue, so he went to rehab,” a source said. “That took time, and he’s still trying to restore normalcy to his life.”

The source claimed Pete hasn’t jumped back into working yet, as he has been considering roles while working on his mental health.

“He had a problem, he got help for it, and he is completing proper post-rehab treatment,” they said.

As The U.S. Sun previously reported, sources claimed the Saturday Night Live alum has struggled to find roles this year in the aftermath of several canceled projects.

But the insider insisted the comedian’s career slowdown was his own doing.

They claimed Pete is regularly offered TV and movie roles, but he has been picky with his choices.

“He’s being smart about it,” the insider explained. “If he rushed to work right after rehab, it would be like, ‘Was he really even taking this seriously?’

“He’s putting himself right in the middle of it. He’s actually treating the situation, in the way people in his life had hoped he would.

“He could be doing more roles, but he wasn’t in the right frame of mind to take them at the time.”

“He’s gotten several different offers. He gets things consistently, almost every week.

The insider claims despite the career pause, Pete has a bright future in Hollywood.

“The fact is, he’s in a good place and he’s at an age where he still has a lot of runway ahead of him.

“This is a guy who is both complicated, but yet very simple. He had his issues, and now he is working his way through them.”

WORK WOES

Sources previously told The U.S. Sun that Pete had been having issues landing gigs after bailing on his standup show mid-tour to go to rehab, and bowing out of a confirmed second season on his Peacock show Bupkis.

Despite a lack of credits on his IMDB this year, an insider said there would likely be formal announcements on new projects in early 2025.

Outside of his canceled standup tour, Pete filmed Eddie Murphy’s flick The Pickup at the start of this year, and had a voiceover role in Dog Man.

His dedicated fans have also recently seen him in commercials for Taco Bell, Manscaped and Smartwater.

Pete Davidson’s Rehab Stints

Pete first checked into rehab in 2017 as he was diagnosed with BPD and PTSD.

In 2019, he went to the Sierra Tucson Treatment Center in Arizona.

The comedian underwent treatment at another mental health facility in June 2023.

He checked back into rehab at the end of July 2024 and a source revealed that Pete had left the facility after only a few weeks.

In November of 2024, The U.S. Sun revealed that Pete had once again checked into a rehab, this time in Florida.

GETTING HELP

Last month, The U.S. Sun reported that the 31-year-old had checked into treatment in Florida after ending a brief fling with Bachelor star Maria Georgas.

“He has a therapist in Florida who works on processing traumatic memories and dealing with PTSD,” one insider explained, adding that he travels into the state to see his therapist on a “regular basis for treatment.”

That insider said that while The King of Staten Island star may still struggle with his mental health he is still “clean and in a good headspace.”

RELATIONSHIP RIFT

Insiders told The U.S. Sun that amid his career and mental health struggles, Pete had a falling out with his former SNL co-star turned ferry-venture-business partner Colin Jost.

The source said the 42-year-old Weekend Update star “wants nothing to do” with Pete.

A separate insider close to their Staten Island ferry venture downplayed any issues between the two, and said the old friends had simply drifted apart.

Before his fling with The Bachelor star, Pete’s last serious relationship with Madelyn Cline, 26, ended just before his summer rehab stint, as The U.S. Sun exclusively reported.
