While no country is more responsible for the current invasion of Ukraine than Russia, Germany easily comes in second on the list. The pampered European nation has bled its allies dry while connecting itself to Vladimir Putin via ridiculous energy policies. Even in the face of open hostilities against Ukraine, the Germans have stood in the way of other European nations taking serious action against Russia.

Keep in mind, the United States pays a huge amount of money for Germany’s defense, but when Ukraine came calling for help, they sent some surplus helmets and continued to block lethal weapons transfers from other EU countries. It wasn’t until just a few hours prior to this writing that they finally changed course on that policy.

Things are so bad that Poland is now publicly wrecking Germany in an attempt to shame them into delinking from Putin.

Poland has often been maligned (specifically by the American left) because it doesn’t align culturally with the woke demands of the Eurotrash who run the European Union. Yet, when it came time for some real moral clarity, not about personal pronouns and windmills, but about war and peace, Poland stood up while Germany cowered.

That contrast isn’t a new development. The Germans have spent years arrogantly spitting in the face of other Western nations, including the United States, on issues regarding Russia. When Trump urged Germany to change course at the UN, its delegation laughed at and mocked him.

Well, who’s laughing now, as Russia does its best to destroy the international order at the expense of Ukraine? Perhaps the only silver lining in all this is that Angela Merkel isn’t still around to make things even worse. It was her brilliant leadership that led to shutting down Germany’s nuclear power industry in favor of buying Russian energy.

Further, as that all unfolded, Democrats in the United States rushed to take the side of the Germans in order to own the bad orange man. Things got so absurd that major leftwing figures began to proclaim Merkel was the real “leader of the free world.” In reality, Germany was just enriching itself and the Russians at the expense of its neighbors. Yet, if you dared to suggest what they were doing was idiotic and counter-productive, the talking heads on CNN would accuse you of “undermining our alliances.”

But the US alliance with Germany needed to be undermined because the dynamics made no sense, and they continue to make no sense. It’s insane to let the nation that committed the Holocaust and lost two world wars hold so much power, and that’s not even considering the economic damage Germany has done to other EU nations by manipulating the Euro.

On that front, it’s good to see a nation like Poland begin to push back because you aren’t going to find that kind of courage from the leadership of the United States. Someone needs to punch Germany in the mouth, rhetorically for now, but perhaps economically eventually, until they are made to face what they’ve done.
