Police have fined 34 lockdown revellers in Mayfair who flouted Covid-19 rules by throwing a booze-fuelled house party with loud music – as the organiser is hit with a £10,000 penalty.
Met Police officers were called out to Dover Street just before 1am this morning, where they discovered a crowd of people drinking alcohol and playing music inside.
Covid-19 rules allow for six people to gather outdoors, but they are not allowed to meet up inside.

A total of 34 people were reported for the consideration of a fixed penalty notice under Health Protection Regulations.
Scotland Yard also confirmed today that the organiser was reported for a £10,000 fine.
Superintendent Daniel Rutland, said: ‘As we prepare for more restrictions to be eased in England it is more important than ever that everybody is following the rules and avoiding unnecessary risks.

‘We all have a part to play to ensure the Covid infection rate does not rise again and this type of behaviour risks jeopardising the progress that has been made by the majority of people who have followed the rules.’
Covid-19 rules are being relaxed from tomorrow to allow non-essential retailers to reopen, along with pubs and restaurants with outside dining or beer gardens.
People from two different households will not be allowed to meet indoors until the next step of the roadmap, which is scheduled to take place on May 17, depending on coronavirus infection figures.

Last night’s house party comes after hundreds of people were discovered at an illegal rave in Primrose Hill earlier this month.
Scores of maskless ravers defied social distancing measures as they attended the illegal party on Primrose Hill in Camden on April 3.
Footage from the rave in London shows around 300 maskless revellers lock arms and dance to music that is playing from a sound system.
The party-goers continue to embrace each other as they sing along to the music, despite the social distancing guidelines in place.
