Those who have missed out on their Pret fix will be able to stock up after the chain launched a bargain deal allowing customers to get 20 coffees for £20.

The commuter’s favourite chain, which has reopened 300 cafes amid the ease of lockdown measures, will sell vouchers across June.

As Pret opens more shops in the UK, the card encourages customers to share the love by tearing it to give one half to a friend, gifting them ten coffees.

Clare Clough, Pret UK MD told FEMAIL: ‘We’ve heard from many customers on social media about how much they’ve missed their regular Pret caffeine fix over the last few months.

‘Launching our biggest and most generous coffee promotion felt like right way to welcome customers back to Pret, now that we’re reopened more shops across the UK for both takeaway and delivery.’

Last month, the company also launched three coffee products on Amazon UK and shared their recipes exclusively with Femail, so customers can play barista and make their favourite coffee at home.

With offices and commuting hubs empty, many of the sites would have also been deserted and Pret is expected to look at other avenues for revenue while office workers stay home.

Pret A Manger temporarily closed all stores on March 21 prior to the lockdown, but the chain has been gradually opening sites across the country for takeaway and delivery.

To ensure social distancing for staff in Pret kitchens, each site will offer a limited menu, including its club sandwich, tuna baguette and chicken salad, it added.

Pret will also sell macaroni cheese, soups and risottos for customers to heat at home. It follows a similar move to start selling coffee beans direct to consumers though Amazon.

It comes after rival chain Caffè Nero announced it was joining Uber Eats to offer a delivery service for the first time at the end of last month.

Available exclusively on Uber Eats, customers can order coffee, as well as pastries, cake, biscuits and iced drinks from 40 stores across the UK.

Meanwhile, Costa Coffee opened a further 97 stores, taking the total number open to 316, including drive-thru and takeaway only brances.

The chain is also offering delivery from 14 stores via Uber Eats.
