1. Rahul had developed an interest in music from a very young age and he would often play around with kitchen utensils assuming they were musical instruments. After his father noticed this, he encouraged him to get formal and professional training in singing and certain musical instruments.
2. In July 2018, he was apprehended by local police authorities in Jubilee Hills, an affluent suburban neighborhood in the western part of Hyderabad, on charges of drunken driving. The cops were going easy on him but after he refused to cooperate with them and was hesitant in divulging his vehicle’s registration details, he was fined and asked to attend a counseling session.
3. Despite his busy schedule in the music industry, he often takes some time out to help his father at the hair salon that the latter owns.
4. In November 2019, he won Bigg Boss 3 (Telugu), the Telugu-language version of the reality TV series Bigg Boss, the Hindi-language Indian adaption of the global hit reality TV Dutch game show franchise Big Brother. The prize money awarded to him was INR 5 million.
5. His hobbies/interests include playing video games, watching movies, and traveling.
6. In April 2022, he was one among nearly 150 people who were detained from a hotel in Banjara Hills, an urban commercial center and one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Hyderabad. The police had raided the establishment at around 3 a.m. after they had been tipped off that a rave party was going on there.
7. Most of the people detained, including Rahul, had been released a few hours later after their statements and contact details had been recorded. A case had been filed against the owners and management staff of the hotel, however. Unverified reports were floating around that Rahul was at the hotel with an actress belonging to a prominent film family.
