Richard Simmons apologized for tweet

After sharing the cryptic tweet, Simmons issued an apology. 

“Sorry many of you have gotten upset about my message today,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Even the press has gotten in touch with me. I am not dying. 

The fitness expert then clarified what he meant. 

“It was a message about saying how we should embrace every day that we have. Sorry for this confusion.”

Eerie quote was posted earlier this year

Richard Simmons shared a cryptic message on X, formerly known as Twitter, months before his death. 

“I have some news to tell you,” he wrote as part of an X thread. 

“Please don’t be sad. I am ….dying. Oh I can see your faces now. The truth is we all are dying. Every day we live we are getting closer to our death.”

How Simmons rose to popularity

Richard Simmons’ fame grew between the 1970s and 1980s.

He became known for his flamboyant fitness tapes and DVDs.

The fitness guru also opened up a series of gyms all around the country.

Police rushed to star’s house

Officials responded to a 911 call from Simmons’ housekeeper before 10 am and pronounced the star dead upon arrival, according to TMZ.

No foul play is suspected and no cause of death has been released at this time.

Richard Simmons dead at 76

Fitness coach Richard Simmons has reportedly died, TMZ announced. 

The fitness expert was 76 at the time of his death.

A cause of death has not been immediately disclosed.
