The Houston Rockets announced the passing of former star Robert Reid on Tuesday through social media.  

Reid was 68 and passed away after a battle with cancer

Reid’s NBA career was highlighted by helping the Rockets to their first two NBA Finals appearances in 1981 and 1986. 

Houston owner Tilman Fertitta led the tributes to the star guard. 

‘It is with great sorrow that my family and I received the news of the passing of Rockets legend, Robert Reid,’ Fertitta said on social media. ‘I have had the privilege of knowing Robert for over 40 years, and his presence always brought joy and positivity to any room he entered.’
