In September 2022, Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated, per AP, “Today, I underwent a successful surgery to remove my thyroid and surrounding lymph nodes and by the grace of God I am now cancer-free.” She continued, “I want to thank the Arkansas doctors and nurses for their world-class care, as well as my family and friends for their love, prayers, and support.” While undergoing surgery could very well lead to weight loss for many, research done by J Clin Endocrinol Metab stated, “The majority of the studies indicate a net increase in weight following total thyroidectomy, with the greater gain occurring within the first 2 years following surgery.”
The 2024 Republican National Convention wasn’t the first time Sanders was suspected of semaglutide use. In 2023, an X user shared a screenshot of a slimmed-down Sanders and wrote, “Sarah Huckabee Sanders is an Ozempic Girlie.” Another 2023 post read, “Hogabee has ozempic face. Maybe she’ll buy some for her friends too since they’re back from their vacation in France, courtesy of razorback taxpayers. Wonder what she’ll ‘buy’ for AR to cover the cost of the shots? Another lectern is out of the question now.”
Is Sarah Huckabee on Ozempic, or is this a simple matter of diet and exercise following a cancer scare? We may never know.
