SHANNEN Doherty, known for playing Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills 90210, has claimed her ex-husband has been prolonging their divorce.
The actress said her ex, Kurt Iswarienko, is delaying payment of court-ordered spousal support and hoping for her death before fulfilling his financial obligations.
While Shannen, 53, is hoping to receive spousal support as her terminal cancer has progressed in recent years, she believes her ex has been “waiting it out.”
The two were married for 11 years before the Charmed actress filed for divorce in April 2023.
According to court documents obtained by People, the actress was frustrated that she did not receive a significant portion of the financial information she requested regarding Kurt’s original photography archive.
“It is simply not right that Kurt be permitted to prolong our divorce in hopes that I die before he is required to pay me while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years,” she said in the documents.
Kurt’s lawyer responded to Shannen’s claims, saying she denied a settlement that was offered months after their divorce.
“Kurt is not ‘simply wait[ing] for Shannen to die,’” attorney Katherine Heersema said.
“He wants the best for Shannen and he wants both of them to be able to put this case behind them and move forward.”
MAKING CENTS
The podcast host also claimed she denied proposed settlements because she and Kurt “skirted around the issues of his original works created during marriage.”
Shannen requested $15,434 per month in spousal support from Kurt and admitted that she would soon be losing her SAG health insurance.
She also noted that her residual checks from her time on Charmed were getting smaller.
The filing also claimed the photographer has been spending his money on extravagant things, such as lavish trips and designer items.
“Kurt has been utilizing the airplane, spending thousands of dollars at medical spas, jewelry stores, Gucci, and on flights… while simultaneously claiming he has insufficient funds with which to support me,” Shannen stated.

CANCER UPDATE
In 2015, the 90210 actress revealed she had Stage 4 breast cancer.
She had previously gone into remission after a mastectomy and chemotherapy treatments, and the cancer later returned sometime in 2019.
She found out in early 2023 that the cancer had spread to her brain, which she underwent radiation.
Earlier this year, she made an emotional confession and revealed she had started selling some of her belongings in order to make things easier on her mom in case she were to pass first.
“It feels like you’re giving up on something that was very special and important to you,” Shannen said.
“But you know that it’s the right thing to do and that it’s going to give you a sense of peace and a sense of calm.
“Because you’re helping the people that you leave behind just have a cleaner, easier transition.”
