Simon Cowell was recently taken to the hospital after being involved in an electric bike accident in London, less than two years after being involved in a similar accident that left him gravely wounded and bedridden for many months. According to TMZ, the latest collision happened last Thursday, January 27, 2022, as the music mogul was riding his e-bike near his West London residence. He allegedly tried a quick bend but ended up striking a wet spot of the road. Cowell slid and fell to the ground in the middle of the road as his bike’s wheels dislodged from the car. Before paramedics arrived, a few bystanders allegedly rushed to his help and halted oncoming cars.
Simon Cowell was taken to a local hospital and diagnosed with face wounds, a possible concussion, and a fractured arm. Sources told People that the record executive was doing “very well.” Later in the day, the business tycoon was pictured with a bright yellow arm cast and was apparently told to rest at home.
Simon Cowell’s previous e-bike accident
Simon Cowell’s latest e-bike accident occurred barely 18 months after he was involved in a serious motorbike accident in Los Angeles. The X Factor UK judge was testing a brand new £10,000 e-motorcycle at his Malibu house in August 2020 when he lost control of the brakes and smashed into the ground.

He sustained a significant spinal injury and had a six-hour operation to put a metal rod and screws into his back. During an interview with Extra TV, Cowell said that he felt like “passing out” after the accident. The event forced the media celebrity to take an extended vacation from his appearances on TV shows. He allegedly struggled to move without assistance for many months before making a full recovery. The 62-year-old has also resumed riding and claims that the accident has strengthened him. He even described the thrill of riding e-bikes over 10 kilometers a day:
“My most creative time is now when I pedal, even though I use an e-bike.” I’m still able to ride, and I average approximately 10 miles each day… after having an accident on one. That was more of an electric motorcycle; these are known as pedal-assist motorcycles, and they’re fantastic.”
Despite his second electric bike accident, Simon Cowell will most likely continue to pursue his passion for riding. According to The Sun, the entrepreneur will be more cautious about wearing helmets in the future. The tragic tragedy occurred a day after Cowell finished shooting for the forthcoming season of Britain’s Got Talent. As a consequence, the panelist may be seen wearing his arm cast during the show’s planned promotional activities.
