Simone Strobel Boyfriend Tobias Suckfuell – Simone Monika Strobel was a 25-year-old German kindergarten teacher and traveler. She vanished in 2005, and a few days after filing a missing report, her body was discovered at a sports complex in Lismore.
The detectives searched for enough evidence until 2007 but could not catch the killer. The NSW government had created a Strike Force and also offered a USD 1 million reward in 2020 to solve the mysterious case.
After 15 years of investigation, the former boyfriend of Strobel, Tobias Suckfuell, has been arrested by the police in Western Australia. He is set to be extracted to New South Wales.

Tobias Friedrich Moran was onetime known as Tobias Suckfuell. He is an Australian man of age 42 years.
On February 11, 2005, Suckfuell and Strobel were on a night out with friends. He traveled with Simone Strobel at the Lismore Tourist Caravan Park. Six days later, Suckfuell’s bare body was discovered in a sports complex fewer than 100 meters from the campground.
According to the forensic examinations, Strobel suffocated with a pillow or plastic bag.

Moran had no previous known convictions. However, the police already suspected he was the murderer as he denied returning to Australia to give proof at Simone’s inquest.
In 2007, police found insufficient and weak evidence and could not carry investigation.

Strobel’s mysterious murder was also the subject of the book “Have You Seen Simone?” by Virginia Peters.
Moran, however, injuncted the book to prevent its publication. He sued Peters and Schwarz Publishing for defamation; the lawsuit was dropped in 2017.
Similarly, Strobel’s case was featured in episode 55 of Casefile True Crime Podcast. The episode was subsequently removed for legal reasons, perhaps, due to a complaint from Moran. Nevertheless, the general details of the podcast also hinted a lot about Moran’s involvement in the murder.
Tobias Suckfuell Arrested For Killing Simone Strobel After 15 Years
On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, Tobias Suckfuel was arrested for the murder of his girlfriend, Simone Strobel. He was detained after the NSW police issued a warrant on his name and got arrested at his home in Perth.
Suckfuel, who changed his surname to Moran, has always denied killing his girlfriend. In 2005, due to a lack of evidence, he was not charged by then-State Coroner Paul McMahon. However, with the creation of Striker Force, detectives continued with the investigation, and they believed Suckfuel had much to do with the case.

A video of Suckfuel’s arrest has been public on social media. It shows him being handcuffed outside his house and stepping into the police vehicle. The arresting officer was Detective Cameron Blaine, who was also engaged in last year’s successful rescue of kidnapped 4-year-old Cleo Smith.
Tobias Suckfuell Will Be Charged For Possible First Degree Murder
Tobias Suckfuell will be charged in NSW. He will be extracted on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, and will face Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court.
The NSW police have not disclosed the nature of charges on Suckfuell. They will be providing new information in the coming week.
The department said in a statement: ‘Strike Force Howea investigators are continuing to work with their international counterparts, with investigations continuing,’
Moran would be released into the custody of the police until he appeared in court in NSW, according to Magistrate Sandra De Maio, who announced she would approve the order.
