Sirtfood diet is famous for allowing red wine and chocolate on the diet. It is split into different phases that slimmers follow in order to lose weight and weight loss results will only be visible if dieters are in a calorie deficit like any diet. While red wine and chocolate isn’t usually associated with a diet, it can be incorporated into the Sirtfood diet.
However it must be dark chocolate that you are consuming as it is a lot better for you when dieting and contains less calories.
On average, slimmers have lost around seven pounds in one week while following the diet and the diet only lasts for seven days in total.
Nutritionist Aidan Goggins, co-author of The Sirtfood Diet said: “For the first three days, you restrict calorie intake to 1,000 calories a day, which includes drinking three sirtfood green juices plus eating a sirtfood-rich meal and snacking on antioxidant sirtfood bites.
“For the last four days, you up the calorie intake to 1,500 calories a day by consuming two sirtfood-rich meals and two green juices, cutting out the bites.”
Sirtfood green juice:
- 75g kale
- 30g rocket
- 5g flat-leaf parsley
- 5g lovage leaves (optional)
- 150g celery, including leaves
- Half medium green apple
- Juice half lemon
- Half tsp matcha tea powder
Matcha tea powder has been associated with weight loss for many years, especially when added to tea.
Matcha is a key ingredient in these juices and helps boost weight loss while following the diet.
Known widely as a superfood, the power contains a lot less caffeine than a cup of coffee but can provide your body with an energy boost to keep you going throughout the day.
It can also help suppress your appetite when drunk in the morning, meaning you are less likely to consume a lot of food throughout the day.
One study showed that taking matcha tea during moderate exercise increased fat burning by 17 percent.
